Dear Family of the late Professor Wolfgang Waldstein,
My sincerest condolences on the death of Professor Wolfgang Waldstein. I would like to add how deeply grateful I am to Prof. Waldstein for his wonderful scientific works and for being a model of a great Christian and a great Scholar! Exactly on Tuesday, I spoke about Prof. Waldstein to Roman law scholars and young Roman law students and doctoral students and presented how he applied aequitas in arguing for the protection of freedom with regard to the operae libertorum.
His excellent research, especially on operae libertorum and natural law and the protection of the unborn in Roman law, has influenced my own research in recent years. Every year we teach our students about his ideas, which were used in Pope Benedict XVI's speech at the Reichstag in 2011. I pray for Prof. Waldstein, I will remember him and ask for his intercession!!!
May Holy Mary, Our Hope, guide Him to eternal peace. Requiescat in pace.
Respectfully,
Grzegorz J. Blicharz (Jagiellonian University in Kraków)
